Okky started off by joining Dixie Road Medical Associates in Mississauga, Toronto, Canada. There, he practiced as a family physician from 1972 until 1983. In January of 1984, he moved his family to Scottsdale, AZ, USA, and has remained here until now.

Initially, he came with a goal to practice family medicine. However, within 6 months was seeing more chronic pain sufferers. His interest in chronic pain was sparked by his own experience. During his study in a medical school in 1969, he had to go through a severe back strain and the inability to tolerate any type of muscle relaxant or pain killer. So, he resorted to finding alternative ways to manage his back pain and spasms.

Following his graduation, he then entered practice and became certified in acupuncture, osteopathic manipulation, physical therapy, and several other hands-on modalities/methods. Moreover, when he reached the United States, he was introduced to Microcurrent Electrical Therapy (MET) and eventually LLLT (Low-Level Cold Laser).

These situations led to his realization that both modalities helped at the cellular level by stimulating ATP (adenosine triphosphate) production, and apparently, combining of the two resulted in exponential results.
